Our beginner class for is suitable for children from as young as 5 years old.
Karate is great for children, besides physical benefits such as improved balance co-ordination and fitness levels, karate can help develop life skills such as concentration, respect for self and others and discipline.
Our program is designed to provide these benefits and skill sets in a fun environment through games and activities and traditional karate drills and exercises.
Classes run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
5.00pm – 5.45pm throughout the school term
REGISTEROur intermediate class is more challenging than the beginners’ syllabus. Once children have mastered basic skill sets and developed their concentration and self-discipline they will progress into the intermediate class, where they will master more advanced and difficult skills.
Classes run Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
5.45pm – 6.45pm throughout the school term
REGISTERThe Adult Karate program is open to adults and students 16 years and older.
We teach karate with a strong emphasis on developing sound technique. It is one thing to attend a combat class at the local gym, it is completely another to learn how to make that technique really work.
Typically, our adult classes include warm-up exercises, stretches, conditioning exercises, practice and development of blocks, striking and kicking techniques, form and kata work, bag work (practicing striking and kicking techniques against bags) and self-defence work.
All activities that are conducted at a pace that is comfortable for the participant – hard, vigorous and fast movements are not expected or forced upon individuals.
For adults, karate’s benefits really shine. Stress management, weight loss, strength development, enhanced flexibility and improved confidence are among the most often cited benefits.
Classes run Tuesday and Thursday
6.45 pm – 7.45 pm throughout the school term
